Module 10 Distance Education

I enjoyed the readings and the Edutopia video this week.  I didn't even realize that distance online learning was an option in some states.  I was very surprised that Distance Education was an option in Indiana for some students.  I thought that Indiana's and Idaho's sites were very helpful and informative.  Florida's was a little confusing.  I understand how online learning is a wonderful thing for children who have medical conditions and can't attend school.  However, I also feel that parents and educators should be very careful when deciding if students are best suited for traditional as opposed to Distance Education.

  1. I agree with you that parents and educators should be cautious when deciding which type of education is best for the student. It is important to consider each child's individual learning styles in order to evaluate if the child is capable in successfully participating in Distance Education.

  2. I was also surprised to see that Indiana had distance learning. I wonder if Ohio has one, since I live there.
